Being An Expert In The Lead Generation Industry

If you have any hope of your book becoming popular and selling, it must look like a professional book. Like one that could easily be found on any shelf of any bookstore. The contents must also look and sound professional – like someone put a lot of thought into making your book. But even if you have finished your book, you need to continue perfecting its look and its contents. It is a never-ending process, especially if you are new to writing and publishing. So, if you want your non-fiction book to be noticed then you need to avoid the most common mistakes and pitfalls.

Help people apply what they learned. Here is the bottom line. I read a book, and hopefully enjoyed it. Then I went to a book club meeting and talked about the book. So what? What can I do differently or better because of what I learned? Make sure that this is always a part of the group conversation.

Rather than going from book store to book store (which costs money and time), the author could be featured in a video setting on the primary book seller’s sites – like Amazon, etc. Next to the book title, there could be a small TV screen icon. Readers would love to be able to see what their author looks like, and the author can have almost a personal “chat” with his reader at that level. I do it now on my own personal book store website.

Now, imagine that Stephen Hawking comes into the room. Who are you going to listen to? Hawking is the Trusted Authority in this field. He not only has all of the expertise that the expert has, but he has real influence and real power. His words can captivate audiences and his observations can change the way people think about the world. There are thousands of experts on astronomy, but there is only one Stephen Hawking – and that’s because he owns the position of authority in that particular market. While you many never achieve Hawking’s level of intelligence, you can achieve that level of influence in your own field.

Being a freelance writer and entrepreneur means that I am my own boss, I make my own schedule, and I decide the tasks I will accomplish each day or week.

The start was the original idea; the inspiration that prompted the writing. Not all ideas are workable, that is to say, the original idea may be too weak to act as the backbone of the novel. But how can the writer be sure that his original idea has legs?

The best way to accomplish this is to take your custom writing desks to dinner the night before he or she testifies. Preferably to a fine dining establishment where you will have 4-5 hours of time to discuss the case over a meal with many courses. (hopefully paid for by your client, although such is not always possible).

With the vast list of distractions available and a 24-hour day that seems to grow shorter day by day, the average span of human attention continues to decrease into the obsolete. Getting the habit of article writing for book reviews will not change that, but the process of sharing your experience by content writing a review will revive your memory about the content of the book and it will give others a peek into the world created by the author of the book. In the process, you might just inspire some souls to read the book who otherwise wouldn’t have thought of reading it.

Chatting. This one I especially find irritating. One day I was on Facebook, and an author, whom I didn’t know and who had already sent me three messages trying to tell me how great his book was and to let me know I could get it on Kindle for just $2.99, sent me a chat message about his book. If I don’t reply to your message, I sure don’t want to chat with you. I politely ignored him and logged off Facebook rather than tell him to quit harassing me. I wasn’t going to engage in an argument with him. But let’s be clear-I’m on Facebook to chat with my real friends. Not to read your book.

Know that every reader has their own taste and unique senses concerning a book. The idea of individuality determines what theme and genre your book will be. You must know that it is better to have a single theme and a specific genre when writing your book. Theme and genre are two different things.

IN THE END, knowing the nuts and bolts of becoming a professional writer will do one of two things: make you want to write more or make you want to do something else! Having said all this, being a writer is a wonderful occupation. There is a passion and a power in the craft of sharing words with an audience. If you can find the balance between the passion and the every day nuts and bolts you will become a successful writer.
